Tips and Tricks for a Professional Finish

Topstitching is a seam that appears on the right side of a project, usually running a 1/4" from another seam or along a folded edge. It can be done in a coordinating thread color for decoration or a matching thread color for construction and/or stabilization. Sew4Home wants you to take the time and learn how to topstitch so that you can be rewarded with beautiful results when making a project.

Janome Educator Nancy Fiedler provided helpful tips and samples of topstitched projects. The Sew4Home team mentions that it takes a lot of patience and practice to become a pro at topstiching.

    Honoring Our Veterans

Janome Artisan Samantha Walker's husband Jonathan is an Army veteran. Last Veterans Day, Jonathan decided that he would stand on one of their local bridges in Utah in his Class A Army uniform holding an American flag. He wanted to remind people about why we have a day set aside for honoring our veterans and help instill some unifying American pride that seems to be waning these days.

Local news reporters in Utah came to the bridge to capture the story and find out more about the man on the bridge. Jonthan asked that they not share his name, that it wasn't about him. It was about honoring all who have served our country.

Janome wants to thank Jonathan and all of the brave hearts who have served our country.
