Perfect for Fall Projects

“Although cool weather is just a promise here in Florida, the pumpkins are still ripe and the holiday season is upon us. My daughter loves decorating her new house with seasonal towels and pillows so I digitized this pumpkin applique as part of her Halloween decorations. I plan to also use it on overalls for my grandson and a t-shirt for my niece. I used the Artistic Edge Digital Cutter for my applique design and sewed it out on the Janome Skyline S9 using my favorite hooping feature – magnets. Embroidery Perfect Placement with the Clothsetter

The Janome Clothsetter provides perfect placement of embroidery every time. It also allows you to create large designs that require multiple hoopings with ease and precision. There is a Clothsetter available for every Janome single needle embroidery machine. 

Janome Educator Nancy Fielder provided a great article on how to calibrate the Clothsetter, embroider perfect placement, use templates as well as utilize additional products such as Jenny Haskins Template Magic, Artistic Suite, Digitzier MBX V5 and Digitizer Jr. V5.

We were super excited to get the new Skyline S9 sewing and embroidery machine into the hands of our Artisan Merrick White of Merrick’s Art. Merrick’s projects consist of cute and trendy outfits, so she couldn’t wait to create a DIY Bell Sleeve Swing Dress for this season. 

Merrick mentions in her review that most of her projects require basic techniques, but the Skyline S9 includes a number of great features that are helpful in creating a smoother sewing experience. Some of Merrick’s favorite features on the S9 are the superior needle threader, automatic foot lift, the variety of stitches, full color LCD touchscreen and the built-in embroidery function. Merrick also mentions that the wide foot pedal was super helpful because her foot did not slip off.
