    The All Your Own Machine

Last month, Sew4Home hosted a giveaway where anyone can enter to win a Janome MyStyle100 sewing machine. On July 15th, the team drew one lucky winner and that was Mary Wilks from Fort Worth, Texas. This week she picked up her brand new MyStyle100 at her local Janome dealer, Sewing World in Fort Worth.

Mary was at her very first quilting retreat with 17 other enthusiastic quilters when she found out she won the MyStyle100. She said there was a lot of cheering when she told them about her win.

"I have been sewing since I was a preteen, but after my son was born, sewing opportunities were few and far between. Now I am in my 50's and have more time on my hands.

I took my first quilting class about a year ago and I am hooked! My sister is a long-time quilter and it is really wonderful for us to be able to share this passion. In addition, I also do some crafting and home décor sewing.

Sew4Home is a great resource for ideas and hints and I love their reviews of Janome products. I look forward to the Friday emails from Sew4Home to see what is new." - Mary

A Cute Back to School Outfit

Believe it or not, it is officially back to school season. As the kids are enjoying the last few weeks of summer break, they are also heading to the mall with their parents to take advantage of back to school sales. Instead of spending money on apparel that other children might have already from popular stores, your child can stand out the unique way with Janome Educator Nancy Fiedler's adorable back to school outfit.

Nancy put together this adorable outfit for an elementary-aged girl. She bought a t-shirt and leggings and added applique and decorative detail to stylize the outfit. She completed it with a custom-made cardigan and skirt and used leftover knit to make Caroline Hulse's Knit Headband for a final touch.

Using Nancy's clear step-by-step instructions and the fabric and notions required, you too can create this fashionable outfit for your daughter, granddaughter, niece or little friend. Click here for the project instructions.
