Correct bobbin tension is so important for precise stitching. So it makes sense that you can get different Janome bobbin cases fine-tuned to Free Motion Quilting or appliqué or embroidery.
The Horizon Memory Craft 12000 can use three different bobbin cases, depending on the kind of sewing you want to do. They're each color-coded with a little dot so you can easily tell them apart.
Yellow Bobbin Case - Embroidery And Variable Zigzag
The yellow bobbin case comes standard with the Memory Craft 12000 and has a higher tension. It's used for embroidery and variable zig zag stitching. It can also be used for finer threads in the bobbin, when you need more tension on the thread.
Red Bobbin Case - Everyday Sewing
The red bobbin case is our standard bobbin case, and is included with all Janome sewing machines. It can be used for everyday sewing.
Blue Bobbin Case - Free Motion Quilting
The blue bobbin case has a looser tension and is designed for free motion quilting. This case can also be used for a heavier thread in the bobbin, like floss, or whenever you want a looser tension on your bobbin thread. The blue bobbin case is available for Janome sewing machines that have thread cutters, as well as those that do not.
