| MAHWAH , NJ-- In honor of National Make A Blanket Day on Friday February 17th, Janome America, Inc. and its employees devoted time throughout their work day to sew blankets for Project Linus. The day began at 9 am and by 6 pm we had already exceeded our goal for this year. In addition to their all day sewing event, employees are also encouraged to sew at their leisure to help the cause. |

Saturday Morning, February 18: As The Blankets Roll In
EUGENE , OR -- At 10 am on National Make A Blanket Day (February 18) Karen Burdick estimated that she had already received 80 hand made blankets. She expected that by the 5 PM deadline, the pile would nearly cover the front windows on the left side of her store.
As the co-owner of Paramount Sewing & Vacuum in Eugene, Oregon, she has participated in the special day for Project Linus ever since Janome became an official sponsor.
Each carefully folded and tagged blanket has a story behind it. Somebody cared enough to spend the time and fabric to make a hand made blanket for a needy child. |
