Girls love to wear anything with embroidery. The "Two Cute" Capri set (with matching purse) is a great example of a simple outfit that is made adorable with some carefully placed flowers. The project shows how you can do all the layout work on your computer with Janome software and then embroidering is easy.
Deborah Shepherd demonstrates how adding a few small embroidered motifs can make an entire garment look as if it was made from a coordinating fabric. Her "English Roses" tunic is stylish and elegant in an understated way.
Tea time and Teddy Bears what better mix? Janome Digest has instructions for making a breezy sundress, tablecloth and a matching vest for your bear. Using designs from Afternoon Brew Appliqué Collection # 1019 you can make this charming set using the layout software on Memory Craft 10001, 10000, 9500, and 300E machines.
Speaking of Tea Time, Jeanette Orr of Western Australia has contributed instructions for a wall hanging that looks like an embroidered china cabinet. Jeanette also used the designs from Afternoon Brew Appliqué Collection # 1019.
Pamela Holland won the 2003 Best-Of-Show Award at the International Quilting Association show in Houston with her quilt 1776--Heritage Heartache and Happiness. The story of how Pamela came to take on such a monumental project is inspiring: How the loss of her daughter to cancer led to her discovery of the original quilt, how she meticulously recreated the design working from a small photo, and how it took her thousands of hours on her Janome 9000. Her quilt and her story are in the International Showcase.
Also in the showcase : an oriental inspired jumper and jacket set, a hand-look heirloom dress done by machine, and a beautiful "stained glass" wall hanging from Japan.
Other highlight are a sewn children's book “Owl’s Garden” by Stitchitize, a custom appliquéd decorator pillow, and an easy to make embroidered handbag for holding all your Summer things.
