Fabric Preparation:
- Fuse interfacing to the wrong side of the blue cotton fabric.

- Adhere pentagon shape daisy fabric to right side of blue fabric in the center of the placemat with washable glue stick.
- Cut one section of ribbon to extend approximately 1/2" past one of the sides.
- Adhere the ribbon in place with washable glue stick.
- Set up CoverPro for 2 needle Coverstitch using the center needle and right needle. Place Robison Anton Super Brite Polyester thread in all three positions. Set all tensions at 5.

- Stitch the ribbon in place starting approximately 1/2" before the ribbon and continuing approximately 1/2" beyond the end of the ribbon.
Note: The two needles will stitch along the edge of the ribbon.
- Place another piece of ribbon clockwise over top of the previous piece of ribbon.
- Trim excess ribbon and dab with seam sealant.

- Stitch the ribbon in place starting approximately 1/2" before the ribbon and continuing approximately 1/2" beyond the end of the ribbon.
- Keep adding ribbon until all five sides are covered with the ribbon. This will cover the raw edges of the daisy fabric.
- Using a ruler and a fabric marking pen, on the wrong side of the fabric (interfacing), draw lines 1" away from the previously stitched lines.

- Set up CoverPro with Robison-Anton Serger Floss in the chain looper.
- Adjust center and right needle tensions to 8 and the chain looper to 4.
- Guiding the right hand side of the presser foot along the blue lines, stitch all five lines.
- Draw one line 1 1/2" in from the long side on the wrong side of the fabric (interfacing).

- Continue drawing lines until there are four lines 1 1/2" in from all four sides.
- Take one of the 3" x 15" strips of daisy fabric, wrong sides together, fold in half lengthwise and press. The strip should now be 1 1/2" x 15".
- Raw edges even, on the right side of the placemat, place the strip on the one of the short ends. Secure with pins.
- Serging on the wrong side (interfacing), using the right hand side of the presser as the guide, stitch on the 1 1/2" line to secure the strip in place.
Note: Stitching on the wrong side of the strip a Decorative 2 needle cover stitch will appear on the right side.
- Repeat for the opposite side.
- Take one of the 3" x 19" strips of daisy fabric, wrong sides together, fold in half lengthwise and press. The strip should now be 1 1/2" x 19".
- Place the strip at the top on the right side of the placemat and secure with pins.
- Serge on the wrong side (interfacing), using the right hand side of the presser foot as the guide, stitch on the 1 1/2" line to secure in place.
- Repeat for the bottom.
- Set up CoverPro for a 3 needle Cover Hem. Place Robison Anton Super Brite polyester in all four positions; adjust all tension settings to 5.
- With right sides together, place the front of the placemat on the back piece. Place the batting on the bottom.
Note: The back will be sandwiched between the front and the batting.
- Leaving a 4" opening stitch all four sides.
- Trim as needed, turn right side out and press.
