Instructions
1. Trim the pattern pieces for View A.
2. Cut pattern pieces from the cotton twill fabric according to the pattern instructions.
Note: There will be four Skirt Middle Front and Skirt Back pieces (Pattern piece #2). These are the panels embellished with decorative stitches. 3. Cut a piece of stabilizer for each panel, using pattern for size.
4. Place each panel right side up over the stabilizer. Pin in place.
5. Using the air soluble marking pen, mark a 45° diagonal line on each panel, starting at the lower right hand corner of the panel.
6. With the ruler and marking pen, mark additional diagonal lines, spaced 1” apart, until the entire skirt panel is covered.
Note: For an easy way to mark the lines, place the skirt panel on a cutting mat, aligning the first diagonal line with the grid lines of the cutting mat. Position the ruler along the gridlines and mark additional lines, using the gridlines for spacing. 7. Thread the needle with decorative thread and the bobbin with all-purpose thread.
8. Attach the Satin Stitch foot F or Custom Craft foot F2.
9. Select a Triple Straight stitch.
10. Stitch along each of the marked lines on all four skirt panels, removing pins as necessary.
11. Sew a row of decorative stitches centered between the Triple Straight stitches. You can use the same stitches as indicated below or select four or five of your favorite stitches.
Hint: Use each stitch randomly over the skirt panel, until the entire panel is covered with decorative stitches. 12. Repeat for each panel.
13. When the decorative stitching is complete, remove excess stabilizer and press the panels from the wrong side.
14. Complete the skirt according to the pattern instructions, using the decorative thread and Triple Straight stitch for the topstitching
