Janome Supplies Required:
Memory Craft 11000 Special Edition
Zigzag foot A
Border Guide Foot
Janome Red Tip Needles 95/14
Fabric and Notions Required:
2 fat quarters, one floral print & one coordinating tone-on-tone
1 yd 1” decorator trim
1 crib size quilt bat
10” x 22” scrap of lightweight batting
30 weight cotton thread
Matching all purpose thread
1 1/2 yd 1/4” ribbon
Sewing Instructions
1. Set up the Memory Craft 11000 Special Edition for ordinary sewing. Attach the Border Guide Foot, with 30 weight cotton thread on top of the machine and all purpose thread in the bobbin.
2. From the tone-on-tone print, cut a rectangle 10” x 22”. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise and crease lightly.
3. Place the fabric on the lightweight batting.
4. From the group of Quilting stitches, select Stitch 59. Follow the crease line and sew a row of decorative stitches.
5. Select a different stitch. Use the Border Guide Foot for spacing and sew along each side of the center row of decorative stitches.
6. Repeat for each additional row of stitches until you have 9 rows of decorative stitches.

7. Cut the floral print fabric in half lengthwise to make two rectangles 9” x 22”.
8. Press under 3” along one long edge for each rectangle for the hem.
9. Change the foot to the A foot, and thread the top of the machine with all purpose thread.
10. With right sides together, sew the unfinished side of the floral strip to each side of the center panel.
11. Sew decorative trim over the seam.
12. Unfold the hems and fold the assembled panel in half right sides together, matching the seams and trim. Sew with a 1/2” seam. Turn the tube right side out, folding the hem to the inside of the tube.
13. Roll the quilt bat tightly to form a roll approximately 16” x 7” in diameter. Insert the roll into the tube, centering it between the hemmed ends. Gather the hemmed ends together and tie with ribbon, creating a “tootsie roll” look.
