Even graphics that are already in outline form need to go through a preparation process.
What you'll learn
Even graphics that are already in outline form need to go through a preparation process.
The only graphics that don't need to go through a preparation process are those that Janome has supplied as a bitmap outline within EasyImport. They are available when you click on the down arrow next to the Open File icon. Select Bitmap Outline (.bmp) in the drop-down menu to import these files.
Assign Line Stitches
- We are going to bring in an outlined graphic that has not been prepared, so we click on Import Bitmap (.bmp) in the drop-down menu.
- The Import Color Bitmap dialog box will appear.

- Click on Day Flower once to see it in the Preview window.
- Click Open to bring it to the design screen. Note: To locate the Day Flower file, change the "Look in" to C Drive/Program Files/Janome/Customizer 10000/EasyImport/Standard Hoop.
Just like other processes in software, there is more than one way to prepare the bitmap.
- You can click on the Outline icon
OR
You can click on Edit on the menu toolbar, and then click on Outline in the drop-down menu.

- You will know that the bitmap has been prepared when the hand mouse pointer has turned into an arrow.
- You can now assign stitches to the graphic as in Customizer 10000 Lesson 27.
