I just upgraded to this machine from a different brand - WOW, what a great machine-the knee lifter is super for sewing blocks together, I do not have to move my hands to move presser foot up or down-keeps everything even-the speed control is also super-moving slower on shorter pieces and faster on longer seams - thank you

Extremely love my machine. Love that I do not have to move my hands to raise foot. Love that I can do it with my knee. Not much I can say against this machine. Very easy to use.

Workhorse, but...
Wednesday, January 31, 2018

This machine is a workhorse. The big disappointment is the the stitch width CANNOT be increased on the over edge stitch or the overlock stitch. The maximum stitch width allows for an approximate 1/8 -inch seam allowance, if you want to use this to sew AND finish seams, as the instruction book say the stitches’ use can be. A minimum 1/4-inch Sean allowance is necessary for this application. I’m hoping some upgrade to machine software can overcome this deficiency. The thread cutting function and knee lift are a plus.

Janome 6700
Wednesday, January 31, 2018

I traded up from my Janome 6600 to the new Janome 6700. I LOVE my new machine. The new features are spectacular. I love the function of the new needle plates and the HP foot. I sew all kinds of different things, from sheer fabrics to canvas and this machine handles it all like a dream !

I just purchased this machine, to use as a back up to an embroidery machine. I love the space it has under the needle. I love the endless choices I have for whatever I am sewing. I can move the needle to wherever I need it to be. I really love the lighting on this machine. I can sew for hours without any eye strain.

My new 6700P
Thursday, February 1, 2018

After I saw the piece on TV with the San Francisco quilter and his Janome, I knew what brand I was going to get - I just had to save up a bit. Now I have my 6700P I couldn't be happier. I love the space and the speed of it. The 1/4 quilting foot is amazing - what a difference in my blocks. Just started using the free motion and zigzag with invisible thread - I'm having so much fun. It's a great machine and very user-friendly.

I upgraded from my 6600 which was an awesome machine but this one has so many nice upgrades. The lights are brighter and I love the 9 mm stitches! And I love 'my favorite stitch' feature. Great product!

I Love, Love, Love my new 6700. I kept my 6600 and a smaller Janome for travel but this one outperforms in every way. Every new feature is outstanding and stitches are as smooth as silk. So easy to operate and I show it off and highly recommend to all my quilting friends. Thank You Janome for this machine!

Have now used my new machine for traditional quilting, bag making and general sewing it has met all expectations. Am glad I decided on this machine. The duffel bag I just completed had many VERY thick seams which this machine handled with ease.

I really like this over the 6600, both a good machines. I like the 6700 push button to move the stitch width to 1/4 inch. I like all the feet it comes with, and the foot plate button for easy removal. When using metallic thread I bypassed the clip to hold the thread on the needle, it kept it to far left and the thread kept breaking. An easy fix with a redesign so the thread goes in front of the needle. I use the auto threader with regular thread not issues. I hand thread the metallic thread. I like the large throat space for freemotion quilting. And I use the upper thread guide at an angle to allow the metallic thread to unwind sideways, and not tangle.

My go-to quilt piecing machine
Thursday, February 1, 2018

I saw this at my dealer and bought one almost immediately. I love the semi-industrial, business-like appearance of the machine. I love that it's made of metal more than plastic. I love the high stitch speed and the HQ stitch plate. I retired a 1yr old Baby Lock Soprano in favor of using this Janome every day. SUMMARY: A great machine with less than stellar support for new buyers. If you've had experience with previous Janome models, you will have no trouble upgrading to this one. My all time favorite machine I use every day. PROS: needle threader; integrated spool stand; electronic controls (just enough, not so much as to be bewildering with an excess of choice); excellent choice of specialty stitches; memory functionality for special stitches and resume last stitch used; huge extended table; large throat space. CONS: If there is a con, it's Janome's support for the machine.... the manuals are difficult to use and lack an index (the manual is unclear compared to other makes--I would not have know this if I didn't also own several Baby Lock machines). If you like assembling IKEA furniture, you'll get on well with the Janome manuals. There should be more videos posted on the advanced features of the machine. Also, there is no maintenance information at all in the manual. On the plus side, it came with a DVD that shows some of the features I wanted to learn, so I was able at least to do some of what I wanted. Training from my dealer is non-existent, as is Janome support--Janome referred me to my dealer for feature support, and my dealer said "we don't do machine orientations, if we did we'd do nothing else"... they suggested I sign up for a class offered on the previous model, which is not the same.

Janome 6700P
Thursday, February 1, 2018

I traded my 6600 for the 6700 and I am quite pleased with it's performance. It is definitely a workhorse and makes me more confident when I sew. My only disappointment is the fact that I had a lot of money invested in additional feet for my 6600 and none of these fit the 6700. So now I have to go and buy these again. Other than that I love Janome and I have a serger and the 15000.

in LOVE with my 6700
Friday, February 2, 2018

Being as I work at a local quilt shop that sells Janome, I get to try the machines so that i can recommend the best machine for the buyers. I also have the 500E AND the S7...but when the 6700 came out I HAD TO HAVE IT...Absolutely love the speed and the smoothness of it. And the metal bed is super smooth and helps glide the fabrics right over it. The throat space is also amazing. I can not say enough good things about this machine!

I do a large amount of straight line quilting and this machine does an amazing job with little to no puckering. The Accufeed attachment is the best walking foot I’ve ever used. It is so user friendly and changing stitch plates is just a push of a button and it pops out, the needle threader is so easy to use plus changing the from one foot to another is also done with ease. I absolutely love this machine.

My 6500 died and was looking to replace it. Tried the 6700 and knew I had to have it. I'm mainly a quilter and the HP plate and quilting foot are exceptional for a 1/4 in seam. My piecing is more precise than ever. I hope this machine will last as long as my 6500 did.

Love the machine with the exception of the needle threader. I have had numerous problems with it not threading. Back to the dealer twice for repair in less than 6 months.

6700P is AH-mazing!!
Sunday, February 4, 2018

AH inspiring! There are so many great new features on this new product that I’m grateful I upgraded! I’m a professional sewist as a longarm quilter. The 1200 stitches a minute make borders and binding a breeze! The automatic threader is such a nice treat for my aging eyesight. Even the chiseled throat feature offering more visibility has helped, the increased number of lights makes it a dream to see and create!!

MC6700
Sunday, February 4, 2018

I have been sewing for over 53 years and have had the opportunity to sew on many different brands of sewing machines in my lifetime. As a self-learner sewing everything from apparel, upholstery, quilts to my own wedding gown, I wish back then I had the opportunity to sew them on the 6700. Being a Janome owner since 2002, I have never had so much confidence in sewing until I was gifted for Christmas with an upgrade into the Janome MC 6700 from my husband. It's such a good feeling knowing you will enjoy and accomplish a project, commenting “I made this”. The AcuFeed Flex, new stitches, easy to read screen with info of the stitch, numbered touch buttons, extra lighting, knee lifter, the overall slim appearance, and of course the 9mm stitch width make it a very easy to use machine. I struggled to master free motion quilting over the years, but now I can. I just step on that pedal and go with a smile on my face. What more could you want. Every sewing machine is different, but the MC6700 has the performance and the power that you want. When I turn my MC6700 on, I know I am going to have a Good Day of Sewing! As I told my Janome Dealer, “This one’s a Keeper”, “You can't have it back”, but the few questions I have had about operating the 6700, my dealer has been more than accommodating with answers. As of today, I still own several Janome Sewing Machines, from a MC6000, 712T Treadle, 300E & 350E Embroidery to a MC10000 Sewing/Embroidery Machine. They are all running in top shape, but the 6700 is definitely a cut above. Two Thumbs Up!

For 23 years, I sewed on another name brand sewing machine. This machine had no bells and whistles, but I loved it. I had no reason all those years to look at another machine until I read about Janome's 6700P. Yes, I bought it and I'm enjoying all the bells and whistles. The simple things like the thread cutter made me realize I had been missing out. I love the speed and the large space. I bought it in November of 2017 and have been working on piecing a quilt. I'm looking forward to sewing some clothes and quilting quilts.

I recently purchased this machine and still learning the basics of it. I have found this machine rugged! It is a well made solid machine. I look forward to learning all the features and using this machine to the fullest. Everyone who has one that I know has tagged this sewing machine their favorite!

Fantastic machine
Monday, July 6, 2020

I sell sewing machines, 5 different makes and many models... But I bought the Janome 6700p... It has features I have not seen on other machines.. Including the extra lift position on the foot. I am making bags right now and the extra lift goes over the thick foam perfectly. Sews fasssst and too. :)

I LOVE this machine!
Friday, February 19, 2021

I'm a professional quilter and started using the Janome 6700p to piece and quilt a little over 2 years ago. I am in love with this machine. I switched over to Janome machines after my last machine (from a different manufacturer) was unreliable for consistent quilting stitches. There are SO many great features about this machine, including: 1. great stitch quality, 2. essentially a "built in" walking foot with options for attachment so that you can really see your quilting as you work, 3. a really large throat/harp space (I quilt Queen size quilts on this baby), 4. fantastic built in lighting... the only time I need extra lighting is if I'm working really late at night, 5. easy to use and get set up. I only use a handful of stitches and feature. It has all of the bells and whistles! Even though I use it pretty much for the basics, I adore this machine!
