free motion quilting
Hi there! I am new to free motion quilting. I have a Janome Gem 660 which I use mostly for patchwork. I don't think I can lower the feed dogs on this model. Is there a workaround that I can utilize so I can do free motion quilting on this machine? And is there a particular foot I should purchase for it?

Thanks so much for your help!

You'd need what I call a darning foot, but I don't know if there is one for your machine - a Janome dealer could help you with that. If you machine has feed dogs that lower, the switch for that might be on the right hand side of the machine or the back. If it does, and you use this, don't forget to put the feed dogs up again, or you won't be a happy camper when you try to sew that "fine seam" again.
