Did you see those cute button tabs Anne Hein made? These are all created in the hoop of your embroidery machine! Even the buttonholes! Anne used her Artistic Digitizer software to create the flower with the shapes and array tools. Then added the inside colors with a layered gradient fill. The buttonholes are part of the Properties/Fill options. Be as creative as you like as you stitch these out!

This is a four-color design. But you can combine colors 2 and 3 like Anne did.
You can copy/paster them on the edit screen of your machine and use the Color Combination tool to merge the color stops.
Supplies:
Bobbin filled with rainbow variegated embroidery thread
Medium weight, tearaway stabilizer
Felt – 3″ square – look for the stiffer felt options
Embroidery thread of choice
Red needle
Anne used these color combinations:
Color 1 red, Color 2 orange, Color 3 orange , Color 4 rainbow variegated
Color 1 orange, Color 2 yellow, Color 3 yellow, Color 4 rainbow variegated
Color 1 yellow, Color 2 green, Color 3 green, Color 4 rainbow variegated
Color 1 green, Color 2 blue, Color 3 blue, Color 4 rainbow variegated
Color 1 blue, Color 2 purple, Color 3 purple, Color 4 rainbow variegated
Hoop a medium weight, tearaway stabilizer
Center the felt in the hoop and use the basting feature of your machine to hold it in place.
After stitching out carefully trim around the petals leaving about an 1/8″ of the felt. Carefully open the buttonhole.
These will fit on standard shirt size buttons.
