    Monogrammed Oven Mitts by Sew4Home

For Sew4Home's first project of the New Year, they chose the Flourish Alphabet Monogram that is built into the Janome Memory Craft 500E. The beautiful embroidery was done with three colors of Aurifil 50wt cotton thread. This is a great gift for yourself or a friend who either just got married, moved into a new home or even renovated their kitchen.

Sew4Home mentions that the embroidered letter is optional, but the embroidery against the solid color fabric is a wonderful way to customize the look. These great mitts are sufficient for most hot dishes and general baking. Each mitt finishes at approximately 12 1/2" long and 7 1/2" wide.

    By Lauren Taylor

Lauren Taylor of LLadybird works for Anna Maria Horner’s Craft South store in Nashville, TN. When the Anna Maria Horner M100 sewing machine launched in October, we could not wait to get it into Lauren’s hands. She mentions in her review that the AMH M100 is easy to use, has some fun features and is just plain adorable!

Lauren loved the machine’s built-in stitches that included a lot of hearts, swirly and girly characters. She appreciated that there wasn’t an overwhelming number of stitches. The machine also comes with several useful feet and accessories along with extra bobbins, spool caps, a seam ripper and more!

Lauren also enjoyed the threading function on the machine as it was super easy and there are numbers and arrows to direct you through the thread path. In addition, she mentions that the bobbin can also be wound without the foot pedal.

The Season of Comfort and Joy

"Nothing says comfort like plaid flannel. I love recycling leftover fabric. This one is from pajama pants I made for my children when they were little and the wool from a skirt we used as a costume in a production of Our Town. The fabrics went together perfectly for this pillow. The finished product brings me great joy and happy memories.

I digitized the letters using my Digitizer software and embroidered on the Janome Horizon Memory Craft 15000. The lettering download is free and sized for the MC15000's 9" x 9" hoop. It can be used for bags, pillows or pajama shirts. Let your imagination soar!" - Janome Maker Milinda Stephenson of Milinda Sews
