MC9400 Review and Project for School

By Sandi Sawa Hazlewood

After falling in love with the art of quilting while sewing on hand-me-downs, Sandi Sawa Hazlewood of Crafty Planner decided to buy her own machine. Her first Janome was the Memory Craft 7700QCP and then she purchased the Hello Kitty 11706 as a travel machine.  When we asked her to give the new Horizon Memory Craft 9400 a try, she could not wait!

Sandi’s favorite MC9400 features are the bright LED lighting that helps when you are sewing at night; the fast Superior Needle Threader and the low thread alert in the bobbin. The features that did not making Sandi’s sewing as fun were that you have to really make sure the feet are secured tight, she mentions in her review that two needles accidentally broke; the food pedal compared the the MC7700 machine is shorter and the light under the throat gets hot over time.

Sandi encourages every quilter who is looking for a new machine to give the MC9400 a try! She made a gorgeous Composition Book Cover with the 9400 for those who are in school or are teaching.
