Second Place Winner
In August, Janome Blogger Merrick White from Merrick's Art and her best friend Leanne Barlow from Elle Apparel launched The Modern Girl's Guide to Sewing, a two-part online video course that teaches beginner and intermediate sewing enthusiasts everything they need to know about modern clothing construction.
As part of this program, Merrick and Leanne hosted a giveaway for all of the participants. Janome provided machines for the top three winners. The first place winner of a Janome 4120QDC sewing machine was Sophorn A. from Washington. You can read her blog post here. The second place winner of a Janome DC2015 sewing machine was Cassie H. from Indiana. Cassie picked up her machine at "Always in Stitches LLC" in Noblesville, IN.
"My mother has always been a wonderful sewist. She made some of our Halloween costumes growing up; put buttons back onto our coats or patched up tears or holes in clothing that are often a consequence of having playful and adventurous kids. I've always admired my mother for her abilities and everything she is able to do.
I have always wanted to learn how to sew, but for as long as I can remember, sewing machines have terrified me simply because I lack knowledge of how to use one properly. Thanks to The Modern Girl's Guide to Sewing and the giveaway they hosted, I now have the opportunity to learn and develop the skills I have been wanting to for so long.
I never thought that I would get such a wonderful opportunity and I am thankful and excited to have a new DC2015 machine!" - Cassie
Congratulations Cassie!
