Boo! Door Banner

It is the season of ghosts and goblins! What fun it is to create a door banner for the season using just decorative stitches. Janome Educator Nancy Fiedler created this wonderful door/wall hanging for Halloween. See below for a clear step-by-step tutorial on how to make it. 

Janome Supplies Required

  • Skyline S7 or any Janome sewing machine
  • Satin Stitch Foot F
  • Piping Foot
  • Beading Foot Wide
  • Zipper Foot E
  • Quarter Inch Foot O
  • AcuFeed AD Foot
  • Janome Blue Tip Needle
  • Janome Black Prewound Bobbin
  • Optional: Elna Press

Fabric and Notions Required

  • 1/3 yard of white cotton
  • 1/3 yard of black and white small print
  • 1/3 yard of backing
  • 1/2 yard of batting
  • 8 yards of a 1/4″ cotton cording
  • 4 yards of black 4mm string beads
  • Terial Magic, liquid stabilizer
  • Jenny Haskins Web Magic; paper-backed self-adhesive fusible web
  • Tear Away stabilizer
  • 3/8″ x 10″ dowel rod
  • 1″ plastic ring
  • Black embroidery thread
  • Black all-purpose thread
