Fabric and Notions Required
Fabric scraps (one long strip, approximately 3″ wide and the circumference of your hat plus 1″ for seam allowance)
Batting scrap (same dimensions as the fabric strip)
Basic sewing supplies (thread, scissors, pins, etc.)
Sewing machine
Instructions
Measure and Cut the Fabric: Measure the circumference of your hat.Cut a fabric strip that is the length of the hat’s circumference plus 1″ for seam allowance, and 3″ wide. Cut a batting strip with the same
Pin the Layers: Pin the layers together along the long edge to prevent shifting while sewing.

Press the Band:Press the band flat, making sure the seam is centered
Topstitch: Topstitch along both long edges of the band to keep the layers in place and add a decorative touch.
Finish the Ends:Tuck in the raw edges at both ends of the band, press, and sew them closed
Attach to Hat: Wrap the band around the hat and hand-stitch or use fabric glue to secure it in place.
