Tedra Skirt

The Tedra Skirt by Lotta Jansdotter is a bias cut skirt that is easy to make and even more fun to wear.  100% wool fabric was used for the project sample which makes a lovely garment for fall and winter.  The Skyline S7 offers many helpful, pre-programmed stitches to save time when sewing this skirt.  Supplementary notes and tips are included to be used in parallel with the pattern directions.

Janome Supplies Required

  • Sewing machine needles (matching selected fabric)
  • Hand sewing needle
  • Standard sewing machine (sample was made with the Skyline S7)
  • Size Z Invisible Zipper Foot (or coordinating invisible zipper foot with sewing machine)
  • AcuFeed Flex foot or Even Feed foot

Fabric and Notions Required

  • Book, Lotta Jansdotter Everyday Style (Tedra skirt, pg. 128)
  • 1 ¾ yard, 44” wide fabric (for all sizes) / Wool, Denim or Mid-weight cotton
  • Matching or contrasting thread
  • Marking pen/chalk/French curve ruler
  • Iron/Tailor’s Wood clapper or hardwood sample
  • Rotary cutter/ruler/mat/paper scissors/pinking shears
  • Pen/Pattern tracing paper (Swedish tracing paper, medical exam paper, etc.)
  • 1 yard, 2” wide, 100% rayon Petersham Ribbon
  • 9” invisible zipper
  • Sewing pins/Seam Ripper
