Sewing Instructions

STEP 1: THE POCKET

(OPTIONAL) Prep the Main Fabric POCKET with stabilizer and add your embroidery design.
You can find the link to the #MOMLIFE design I used here.

RST, pin the Lining and Main fabric POCKET together.

Sew along the raw edges leaving 2″ open.

Turn the POCKET Right Side Out.

Pin POCKET to the Main BODY piece matching the pocket placement. Sew along the POCKET, topstitching. Make sure to close the opening used to turn the POCKET Right Side out.

STEP 2: THE ZIPPER

Take the ZIPPER TAB pieces and fold the short ends in towards the Wrong Side. Align each zipper end with the tab as shown. Enclose the zipper with the other end of the ZIPPER TAB. Sew along the fold closest to the zipper.

Place one MAIN BODY right side up. Place the zipper right side down along the top edge. Then place one Lining BODY right side down on top, sandwiching the zipper. Sew using a zipper foot.

Press exterior and lining away from the zipper having the Main and Lining BODY WST. Topstitch close to the zipper seam. Repeat for the other side of the zipper using the remaining Main and Lining BODY pieces.

Open the zipper halfway – allowing you to turn the Pouch Right Side out at a later step.

STEP 3: THE BODY

Place the MAIN BODY pieces RST and Lining BODY pieces RST.

Make the LOOP by folding it in half lengthwise with RST. Sew along the raw edge. Turn Right Side Out.

Place the LOOP along the Zipper seam, keeping the folded edge inside, aligning the raw edge with the edge of the Pouch.

Sew around the entire pouch with a 1/2 in seam allowance, leaving a 4 inch opening along the bottom to turn the Pouch Right Side Out at a later step.

STEP 4: BOX THE CORNERS

At each Main BODY corner, pinch the side seam and bottom seam together so the seams are together.

Measure 1.5 in from the corner point and draw a line across the corner. This line should be about 3 in long. Sew along this line.

Do the same for the corners of the Lining Body.

Turn the Pouch right side out through the lining opening and the open zipper. Push out the corners.

Close the lining opening with an edgestitch, then push the Lining Body through the zipper.
