Introducing the HD1000 and HD3000

The “HD” in this series stands for Heavy Duty.

Remember the old all-metal sewing machines? Maybe your mother or grandmother had one. Those machines couldn’t be beat when it came to sturdiness and durability. But you had to be an Olympic weight lifter to pick one up.

Well, that kind of sturdiness is back – without all of the weight. Introducing the Janome HD1000 and HD3000 sewing machines.

Like your grandmother’s machine, they have an all-metal body. But unlike your grandmother’s, it’s made of special, lightweight aluminum. So while these new machines live up to the Heavy Duty in their name, they’re only about two pounds heavier than a comparable model with a plastic body.

Stability, Speed & Precision

The HD3000 sewing machine is perfect for a beginning sewist or someone who enjoys quiet, vibration-free sewing. Because of its rigid aluminum body, the machine gives wonderful stability to the sewing mechanism. Even when it’s sewing along at its top speed of 860 stitches per minute, the 7-piece feed dog is perfectly synchronized with the needle and you enjoy the soothing feeling of your fabric feeding smoothly.

The HD3000 has 19 stitches, including a one-step buttonhole, and can stitch a zig zag up to 6.5mm in width. It has a free arm, built-in needle threader, and a reverse stitch lever. The machine comes standard with a hard cover.

The HD1000 is slightly smaller and lighter. It has a 3-piece feed dog, comes with 14 stitches, including a four-step buttonhole and has a maximum zig zag width of 5mm.
