Send a Design Using USB to the MC 10001 and 10000 V3.0

With the advent of the Memory Craft 10001 and the Version 3.0 upgrade to the Memory Craft 10000, a new folder system has been created that makes it easier to communicate with the machines. It also makes it easier to store designs.

Communication is easier because it has been simplified. The use of the Mode keys is more intuitive.

Let's send a design to the sewing machine to see how this process works.

Open Customizer 10000 Plus.
Image
The Customizer 10000 Plus Start dialog box will appear. The communication software is in all three programs, so any program can be used; we will choose EasyImport.
Image
Click EasyImport. The design screen will appear. ,b>Click the Open icon. It is the second icon on the Standard toolbar. If you hover your mouse over the icon, the word "Stitch" will appear, indicating that you want to open an embroidery design.
Image
The Open/Import files dialog box will appear. Click the design Day_Flower once to see it in the preview box. Click Open to open the design.

Your design screen should look like this:

Note: if you have an ATA PC Card in your sewing machine, please remove it. We will be using it later in the lesson.

To send this design, we need to prepare the sewing machine to receive designs. We do this by pressing the PC-Link Mode key, which is the third mode key from the left.
Image
Once the machine is in "ready mode," we can send the design. Click the icon of the sewing machine (Send One) on the Standard Toolbar. It is second from the end on the right.

The Send a Design - USB Connected dialog box will appear.

There are four Built-In Memory Folders. The first one is named Designs, and this is where the Built-In Embroidery designs reside. You cannot add designs to this folder, but you can read from it. The other three folders are named EmbF2, EmbF3, and EmbF4, but you have the option to change the name of the folder if you choose. In the example above, EmbF4 was renamed QUILTDES to hold embroidery quilt designs in one easy-to-find place.

EmbF2 is the default folder to send designs. It is open, showing that it will be the one to receive our Day_Flower design unless we point to another folder.

None of the folders for the ATA PC Card are showing because there is no ATA PC Card in the machine. Click the Close button on the Send Design window. Insert your ATA PC Card into the sewing machine.

Click the Sewing Machine icon again.
Image
Now we see the twelve folders on the ATA PC Card in addition to the four built-in folders. Each folder is capable of holding approximately one hundred designs, so we have the ability to send about 1500 designs to the folder system.

If you choose one of the three available built-in folders, you will send your design over the USB cable and write the design to the built-in folder in the sewing machine. If you choose one of the twelve folders on the ATA PC Card, you will send your design over the USB cable and write the design to the ATA PC Card.

Click the Send button to send the Day_Flower design to the default built-in folder EmbF2. The Send Designs dialog box will appear over the Send A Design dialog box. Click Start to send the design.

Once the design is sent, a picture of the design will appear on the PC-Link screen. This picture is only meant to be an indication that the design has been sent.

To open the design, press the Embroidery Mode key to place the machine into embroidery mode.

Then, press the Open Folder mode key.

The folders will appear on the sewing machine screen. We sent our design to EmbF2, so the folder will have a "document" peaking out of it. Touch the folder to open it.

Any designs that are in the folder will show as thumbnails on the folder screen. Touch the thumbnail of the Day_Flower design to select it. The design will open and show on the Ready to Sew screen.

If the design had been sent to one of the folders on the ATA PC Card, follow the same steps:

  1. Press the Embroidery Mode key to place the sewing machine into Embroidery mode.
  2. Press the Open Folder mode key to display the file folders.
  3. Press the ATA PC card folder where you sent the design to open it.
  4. Press the thumbnail of the design to select it.
