I bought the machine to take to class. Absolutely love it! Easy to set up, light weight, plus has almost all the same features as my big Janome. Have recommended it to friends.

Love my new machine
Thursday, July 26, 2018

I have had my machine for about a year now. Every project I have worked on has turned out beautifully. I had to make a vest for a costume for my son and used the button hole stitch for the first time and it was so smooth and easy. I still have a lot of exploring to do with the different stitches but so far it has been easy to use and learn.

I love my Janome 3160qdc! This machine is very user friendly and makes sewing fun. My one negative would be the stitch length...it does not have an option for very long stitching for machine basting.

Great, versatile, portable little work horse for all sewing and quilting. I love it, when I'm not using the MC9400.

Exactly what I needed
Thursday, July 26, 2018

I had my mother’s old Elna machine for years and it was so hard to get it up and running when I needed to use it. Last year with a new grandchild on the way, I figured it was time to give up the old and try a new one. My Janome 3160qdc is so easy to use. Saying I love it not enough. I can do basic mending and then be as creative as I like with a touch of a button. This is a good basic machine to have in your sewing room. Can I say my sewing machine dealers are awesome, too! Great service.

I bought my 3160QDC as a second machine to take to classes and retreats, but it has become my first choice in my home studio as well. It stitches beautifully and is intuitively easy to use.

I've had my machine for 4 or 5 years. I bought it for a travel machine. It does a nice job but at time I have trouble with tension which I've been able to fix by reading the manual. My only gripe it the knotting it does at the beginning of my stitching on the underside. I took it to 2 dealers and they said it's just a part of the way that machine works. One told me to hold the threads back when I start sewing. It did not work and I don't like it on the back of my quilt pieces. I own three other machines and none of them do that. If anyone had a way to fix that I would be glad to hear it. Other than that it works fine. I use it for costuming community theater and other projects. I'd still give it a 5 star rating regardless of my issue. Hopefully someone can tell me how to fix that.

I love my 3160QDC! It's light weight and portable, easy to use. I take it on vacation to catch up on my quilting projects. Requires very little service. I love this machine so much that after using it for 2 yrs. I bought the Janome Quilt Maker Pro 18. Now I can do my piecing and quilt them too!

This is my 3rd Janome sewing machine (plus my serger) and is the best machine to take to classes and retreats. I can do just about everything on this small-ish machine that I use my big machines for. And the feet and bobbins are almost all interchangeable. I don't think I would ever consider another brand!

I love my Janome 3160QDC! It was my first machine I had purchased for myself! I had been sewing since I was a freshman in high-school. My father had recently passed away and I needed something to help cheer me up. I had always wanted to learn to Quilt so I enrolled in Quilt class at my local sewing store & bought my 3160. The rest is history... love my Janome 3160 & quilting. It was easy to carry to & from class, and very user friendly! I even have bought a Janome 12000 too! I use my 3160 for retreats & teaching my 2 grand daughters to sew. They are 10 & 8 & they love sewing and they love this machine too. I hope to buy each one of the girls their very own Janome for Christmas this year!

The best machine for class/workshop. It is lightweight. I am teaching my granddaughter to quilt on the 3160. It has the features needed like my larger Janome. I highly recommend this machine for a first machine purchase.

I'm VERY happy with my 3160QDC. I take it to classes or group sewing events. It is easy to use and has lots of options. I especially like that it is very similar to my larger Janome and I can easily switch and not have to learn about 2 different types of machines.

Love my 3160!! his is the machine I have used the most out of the 3 I own!! I can take it to class easily and it is a very easy machine to use- has a lot of features I see other comparable machine do not have , such as the threader, automatic scissors.

In January 2017, I bought my first new sewing machine in 30 years. I've been sewing all of my life and decided that it was about time I replaced my old Singer and bought a machine with a 1-step buttonholer. I love my new Janome. I've made several button-front shirts for my daughter's guitarist fiance to wear while performing. He loves them. Now, mostly because of this Janome's various features, I'm branching into quilting.

I love this machine. I bought it as a back up and to take to classes and in the RV. I love that it’s small and I can set up on the small table in our camper. It’s light so I don’t have to limit the amount of fabric and notions I take when traveling. I’ve recommended it to several friends!

I love my Janome 3160 QDC - I have had it for a few years and sewn multiple quilts and a few other items on it and it works like a dream. I am so happy that my local sewing shop suggested it when I was looking for a sewing machine, I originally walked in having not done any sewing in years and this sewing machine has been a perfect fit for me and I plan to use for many years to come.

I love my Janome QDC. It is light and very portable. It’s easy set-up has me piecing quickly. I really love the large table top too. My dealer is minutes away and recommended this machine. Love it.

Classes & retreats are so much easier since hubs gave me this for Christmas a few years ago.
Wednesday, August 8, 2018

While I love my 6500, I have back issues, it's heavy which is good , but harder for me to transport. The 3160 qdc is light enough for me to lift, stays in the roller case ready for its next adventure . Almost like better for piecing than my 6500 because of the feed dogs. Has my must haves : thread cutter , needle up down , & threader. Only negative is the really AWFUL light on such an otherwise great machine . Foot control angle is too high for my foot to operate comfortably, but a stack of folded washcloths under my heel solves the issue .

I have a Janome 9400QCP and LOVE it, and now have the QDC for carrying to classes and workshops - and I LOVE it too! I have taught my granddaughter to sew on this perfect-sized machine, and it does a great job. It's sturdy and has the quilting accessories that I want in a machine. Get one! You'll LOVE it too!

I really like my Janome 3160QDC! I would even say love if you can love a machine! I use it almost every day for the past 14 mos since I bought it. Jan as I call it, helps me to make clothes, quilts, rugs, and any other thing I want to sew. The bobbin winder is a little loud but not a deal breaker. I would definitely recommend this machine to my friends!!

Great machine!
Tuesday, August 21, 2018

I wanted a light weight machine to take to classes, retreats etc. Two of my friends have this machine and recommend it to me. I love the thread cutter, how lightweight it is and the auto threader. I use this machine to quilt, garment sewing and mending. I have no trouble sewing through denim when repairing jeans. The back tack button is hard to find, even after having the machine for 2 years I can't just hit the button without looking for it. Having better lighting and notifying me when my bobbin thread is about to be empty would make this machine perfect! The price was reasonable. I like the machine so well I use this one all the time, not just for travel.

I purchased this machine as my first quilting machine. Prior to this, I had a 30 year old Kenmore. It is a gem. I found myself with a little extra money and purchased another Janome and now use this one for classes and quilt-a-thons. It is so portable. I had trouble initially with the bobbin housing, but took it to a knowledgeable Janome repair shop and it has been fine ever since.

Nice, light machine
Thursday, October 11, 2018

I use my 3160QDC for twice-annual beach getaways with my quilting friends because it is smaller and lightweight. I have a Memory Craft 8200 QC which I'm IN LOVE with, but it's too heavy to haul, and I'm afraid I'll drop it. The 3160 is perfect for travel - once I get used to not having the knee-lift for the presser foot!!

Really a great machine!

For the price, this machine checks off SO many boxes for me. Drop-in bobbin, speed control, the ability to move the needle....not to mention, I love that it comes with an extension table and hard case. Very much worth the money!
