This technique is used primarily in the garment sewing world, but we will go over how this technique can be used in all aspects of your sewing life. Sewing a Blind Hem with Miriam Coffey.

How to perfect your blind hems with the Janome Blind Hem foot. Blind hemming can sometimes be a little bit tricky so the blind hem foot goes a long way to helping improve this technique! During blind hemming, the fold of the fabric fits snugly against the guide in the foot for accuracy while the groove underneath helps to prevent unnecessary slipping. The needle swings over the metal guide creating slack in the upper tension so that the pick of the stitch is almost invisible.

Intro to Free Motion Quilting with Jerry Granata.

Free motion quilting allows you to move your quilt or project freely in all directions. You can quilt any shape, including straight lines, curves, circles, and squares! As long as you can disengage the feed dogs on your machine, you will be able to free-motion quilt! The feed dogs are the little teeth under your presser foot that usually feed your fabric forward through the machine. When the feed dogs are disengaged, your hands become the guide for the fabric! Follow along with Janome Educator Jerry Granata as he shows you some tips and tricks to getting started!
