Destiny, Admiration, Confidence and a Love of Sewing

A local organization known as "The Bridge Children's Advocacy Center" offers a safe, non-threatening and home-like atmosphere for children while child abuse investigations take place. The center's child-friendly atmosphere reduces harmful effects on children, helps them heal from the trauma of abuse and cultivates a child's chance of becoming a healthy adult. When a child initially arrives at the Bridge, they get to choose from a variety of blankets and keep the one that gives them the most comfort. The need for these blankets is unfortunately great.

Sewing World of Amarillo has a group of customers that meet at our store once a month to share their projects and ideas, learn new techniques and generally inspire each other. This group of volunteers has donated their time and materials to provide over 300 blankets that aid children on their path to recovery.
