I've been using this Forum for many years and I've never encountered where one might out the age of any sewing machine. The Global Site doesn't even post the dates of there updates and upgrades on the new machines. Some of this would be nice to know, however, I'm not sure if anyone from "Janome" actually reads the forum except if they are interested in the same way we are.

I don't know and I'm not sure anyone that reads the forum would know unless they purchased the 6500 when it was launched. However, I bought a 6600 in about 2005 or so and the 6500 had been around for a few years at that time. A good guess would be about 2000 - 2003 or so.

The age of most machines isn't available. I'm not even sure that a dealer could tell you. You'd fave to "Google" when a machine was launched, but if the internet doesn't tell you, then perhaps a dealer would have the information.
