Uneven stitches in Buttonhole, Sewist 500
I’m using the auto buttonhole Foot on my Sewist 500. The left side of the buttonhole stitch density is perfect. The right side density is very low (like a zig zag stitch). Is there an adjustment for evening out stitch density? (My fabric is 1 layer of quilting cotton, 1 layer of synthetic lining, or 2 layers quilting cotton).

Have you followed the directions for buttonholes in your sewing machine manual? There should be a section on fixing the stitches in it somewhere.

I've noticed in all my machines before the computerized machines that the buttonholes were never all that even as some sew backwards then come forward to do the second part and I found that was never exact, but it was quite satisfactory and I would be the only one who would know. I personally didn't like that, but I could live with the results. However, you shouldn't have a result as much as I imagine for the description you have given.
