Remote Thread Cutter Switch with 8200QCP SE?
I wanted to know if anyone is using the remote thread cutter switch 858418008 with their 8200QCP SE... I noticed that other machines have an outlet for the switch, but the 8200 does not. That part number is suggested as an optional accessory on the site, but I'm not sure how that would work. Any feedback would be helpful.

Have you checked with a Janome Dealer?

I have this accessory on my Continental M17 and M7 machines and previously my 12000 & 15000. I attached the cutter to the foot plate, but very seldom ever used it, so I left it off on my newest CM17 as it just added space to the area where my feet get planted. I also found that I would sometimes get my foot placed to close to the thread cutter and engage it when I wanted to sew. My thoughts are that it is more nuisance than help, but I might think differently with a different kind of sewing, where both hands are busy holding something and I can't reach the button on top.

IF your machine can use it and I can't see why it couldn't you might need to buy a whole new foot that uses the cutter. The cutter is just run off the power of the sewing machine and is plugged into the foot not the machine directly. The whole size in width would be about 12-15". It is wider than the pad that Janome sells to keep the foot from sliding away on you when you sew. It is from the "Sew Comfortable" line of accessories and sells for about $30 Canadian Dollars in Canada. I have no idea of what a new foot control plus the thread cutter would sell for as I've never needed to buy a new one.
