Face Bandana

First step is to take your two triangles and trim up to be even and a perfect square. It was a bit tricky for mine as it was wonky from being sewn on the bias. Trim the best that you can. Using your rotary cutter and a quilting ruler rim your bandana into a square. 

When trimming the bandana should be around 20” square. after trimmimg mine it was 18” square. To keep the bandana as big as possible trim as little a possible, if trimmed too small it will be hard to go around the neck.

Next sew the bandana front and back together. Lay your bandana top and backing fabric right sides together, pin or clip as needed. Leaving a 4” gap on one side of the bandana to turn right sides out. 

Sew sides together. 

Once sewn together, trim the corneers to reduce bulk before turning right sides out. take care not to cut off your stitches. 

Turn your bandana scarf right sides out, through the small gap that you left. Use a point turner or chop stick to get those corners the rest of the way out and sharp and pointy. 

Give the bandana a good press and top stitch 1/8“ all the way around, closing the 4” gap. 

I used my Janome Memory Craft 9450 to add a button hole at one of the corners, I didn’t even add a button, I just used the button hole to pull the other end of my bandana through. Velcro aslo works as an easy closure!

Now go off and enjoy your neck and face being warm this winter in style!
