    Knit Headbands by Caroline Hulse

Headbands are a big trend this summer. Instead of spending money on a cute headband at the mall, just create your own! Janome Blogger Caroline Hulse from Sew Caroline provided a clear step-by-step tutorial for you to follow along and create an adorable head piece to pair with a cute sun dress or skirt and tank top combo.

Caroline created these headbands using her 4120QDC sewing machine, fabric scissors, a stretch needle, coordinating thread and 1/4 yard of knit fabric.

    The Skyline S5

Gretchen S., our Stitch Story Contest winner from Maine, has had her Skyline S5 machine for almost three months now and she has been loving it!

The first thing Gretchen made was a weighted blanket. On March 31st, she had taken her youngest daughter to pick out the materials for a heavy blanket and then the next morning she received an email from Janome that she had won. She ended up delaying making the blanket until she got the machine. Gretchen mentioned that it was a simple project, but she could not believe how smooth it was. The stitches were perfect and her daughter loved the blanket!

Once Gretchen was finished with the blanket, she made a 'stitch reference' to try out all of the different stitches. She said that the Skyline's 170 stitches have been very handy and she even learned how to program a stitch sequence!

Gretchen's most recent finish was an Hour Basket which involved stitching over some thick seam. The project went so much easier than what she could have dreamed on her old machine. She gave the Hour Basket to her sister who didn't realize at first that Gretchen made it herself.

Gretchen said that she is still pinching herself that she won the Stitch Story Contest. Although Gretchen is still learning a lot, she mentions that the Skyline takes her farther. She officially claims herself a "Janomer" for life now!

The Free Motion Couching Foot Set

The Janome Free Motion Couching Foot adds a decorative touch to your quilting and home décor projects. The Sew4Home team put it to test and couldn't help but fall in love with another Janome accessory. They mention in their review that the Free Motion Couching Foot results in a cool textured effect and is very easy to use.

Liz Johnson from Sew4Home mentions that it is super important to pre-test your techniques before using the Free Motion Couching Foot. You need to get the stitch width right for your yarn and the foot takes practice. Once you get the hang of it, the Free Motion Couching Foot is the ticket if you're looking for a dimensional embellishment for your next project.

The Janome Free Motion Couching Foot Set is designed for Janome Memory Craft Embroidery Machines as well as other Janome High Shank models.

    Project Made by Samantha Walker

Janome blogger Samantha Walker of Samantha Walker's Imaginary World had a wonderful time at Spring Quilt Market in Minneapolis, MN this year. Made with the Horizon Memory Craft 15000 and Artistic Suite, Samantha's stuffed Cuckoo Clocks were her contribution for her booth.

The best part about these clocks are that they actually work! Samantha said that they were keeping time all throughout the show. She designed the clocks with a zipper in the back so that you can change the battery.

You too can create Samantha's Cuckoo Clocks by following her clear step-by-step instructions by clicking here.
