Cutting Instructions
From the Periwinkle fabric, fussy cut twelve medallion motifs for square centers. Leave ¼ stitching allowance around each shape for the satin stitches.

From the Aqua fabric, cut three 9 3/8” squares. Re-cut each square in half twice diagonally to yield a total of twelve quarter square triangles (you will only use ten in this project). See Diagram 1 below.

From the Blue Dots fabric, cut three 9 3/8” squares. Re-cut each square in half twice diagronally to yield a total of twelve quarter square triangles (you will only use ten in this project).

From the Light Olive fabric, cut two 9 3/8” squares. Re-cut each square in half twice diagonally to yield a total of eight quarter square triangles.

From the Purple fabric, cut two 9 3/8” squares. Re-cut each square in half twice diagonally to yield a total of eight quarter square triangles.
From the Purple fabric, cut five 2 1/2" strips for binding.

From the silk dupioni, cut six 3 1/2" strips. Re-cut two strips into six 3 1/2" x 8" sashing strips; Reserve the final four strips for borders.

Instructions
Piece the Blocks
1. Mix and match the quarter square triangles in color pairs to lay out twelve blocks. Each block will contain two colors, positioned across from each other. See Diagram 2 below.

2. With right sides together, sew a Color A triangle to a Color B triangle on along one short side. Press seams to the darker fabric.

3. Repeat with the other two Color A and B triangles.
4. With right sides together, sew unit made in step 2 to that made in step 3 to complete one 8” block.

5. Repeat steps 2-4 to complete all twelve blocks.

Add the Center Motifs
1. Cut a piece of TearAway stabilizer about the same size as your quilt block.
2. Place a fussy cut medallion in the center of your quilt block.
3. Uncap the pin in the Circular Sewing Attachment, and place it through the center of a fussy cut medallion, quilt block, and stabilizer (with the stabilizer resting on the circular sewing attachment).
4. Using your ruler, measure the distance from the pin to the outer edge of the medallion.
5. Set your sewing attachment to this measurement.
6. Attach the attachment to the machine.
7. Select a zig zag stitch.
8. Shorten your stitch length to the lowest setting to create a satin stitch.
9. Stitch the medallion in place.
10. Repeat steps 1-9 for all medallion centers.

Finish the Quilt
1. Sew the quilt center, alternating the quilt blocks with 3 ½” x 8" sashing strips. You will sew 3 rows of 3 quilt blocks and 2 sashing strips each.
2. Attach a border to the top and bottom of the quilt center. Press and trim excess.
3. Attach the remaining two borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press and trim excess.
4. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top and quilt as desired.
5. Bind the quilt using the five 2 ½” purple strips.
