Hello, hello! We're so excited to introduce you to Stephanie from The Eli Monster! She's joining us this year as a new Maker and will be using our Skyline S7 and the CoverPro 2000CPX for all her amazing apparel projects! 

We thought you'd like to get to know Stephanie better so we had a little Q&A session with her! We even learned what hagelslag is!

Heidi's Bio:

Heidi Proffetty is an awarding winning art quilter, teacher and photographer known for her mosaic style of art quilts. She uses her original technique and a Janome Artistic Edge digital cutting machine to create her quilts. Inspired by the photographs she takes, she transforms her photos into mosaic designs and then uses the digital cutter to precisely cut the small and intricate fabric shapes. The fabric pieces are then fused and free motioned quilted to create her emotional and stunning mosaic quilt designs.

Heidi has written for several publications, including Quilting Arts Magazine. She has been a guest artist on Quilting Arts TV and a featured quilter on the online show, The Quilt Show, episode that aired on March 10, 2019. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two teenage daughters. We're thrilled to have Rachel Barnes as a new Maker here at Janome! She brings a unique perspective to sewing apparel and other fun projects! 

We sat down with Rachel to get to know here a little better. Here are some highlights from our conversation:

Rachel's Bio

Rachel Barnes’ professional background is in Design and Mechanical Engineering. After 11 years of working in this industry, she switched gears to start a family and enjoy time at home with her children. Through this transition (in 2013) she came back to her love of sewing. She enjoys pattern construction and making garments for herself and her family. Her love for all things textile spans out into spinning fiber into yarn and knitwear design.

Rachel’s love for Janome started with her first sewing machine as a college graduation gift. Although she enjoyed learning to machine sew in 7th grade Home Ec, she got more into personal garment sewing years later. Her skills in the area of technical precision led her to sewing pattern testing in 2015. She has worked with multiple designers and companies to offer technical editing for sewing patterns.
